Guide · Costs
How much does an international school in Belgrade cost?
What is inside each school's fee and what is billed on top – the comparison that decides it, and the six lines to ask for in writing before you compare two schools.
Schools' own pages read 24 August to 23 September 2026
International school fees in Belgrade have no standard figure, and the reason is worth knowing before you start comparing. Nine of the eighteen fee-paying schools we have checked publish figures – seven a current schedule, one a schedule whose most recent year has already passed and one on a page its own menu does not link to. The other nine release them at an interview or by email. And the schools that do publish are not charging for the same thing. One school's fee covers lunch, uniform, textbooks, health cover and trips; another's covers teaching and nothing else, with lunch billed daily by an outside caterer. Comparing two Belgrade schools on tuition alone tells you almost nothing. This page sets out what each school's fee actually contains, which one-off charges exist, and exactly what to ask for in writing.
Why there are no figures on this page. Several schools publish fee schedules on their own sites, and we have read them. We do not reproduce them: each school's own page is the source, and each profile links to it. Figures copied from directories without confirming them with the school are how most of the wrong numbers about Belgrade schools got into circulation. If a school confirms its figures for publication, they will appear here with the date. This page compares what each fee contains, which is the part no one publishes and which changes the total more than the headline does.
Which schools publish a fee, and which do not
| School | Does it publish? | Where the figure lives | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| BIS | On request only | At an interview, or by email on request | Tuition fees are provided to individual parents electronically or during the Admissions Conference. |
| Brook Hill | On request only | At an interview, or by email on request | – |
| Chartwell | Publishes, but out of date | On the school's own fee page, most recent year older than the current one | The most recent schedule, a PDF, covers 1 September 2023 to 31 July 2024; there is no 2026/27 schedule. Figures circulating on directories are around 15% higher than the school's own published figures, and we do not use them. |
| DSB | Publishes a schedule | On the school's own fee page | Billed over 10 months; July and August excluded. |
| EDUCA | Publishes, but not linked | On the school's own site, on a page its menu does not link to | The page carries the site's normal navigation and footer but is not reachable from the menu – the menu's fees page and both “view our fees” buttons lead to an enquiry form instead. The page states no academic year, so we do not present these as 2026/27 figures. A capital fees donation is charged yearly on top of tuition. |
| Green School | On request only | At an interview, or by email on request | – |
| Intellectum | On request only | At an interview, or by email on request | – |
| IPS | On request only | At an interview, or by email on request | – |
| International School | Publishes a schedule | On the school's own fee page | Prices are set in EUR and paid in the RSD equivalent at the National Bank of Serbia sell rate on the day the contract is signed. A reduced fee applies to early enrolment; the deadline is on the school's fee page. |
| London Gates | Publishes a schedule | On the school's own fee page | The schedule is on the school's Russian-language primary-school page, under Тарифы, and names the 2026/27 year. The English-language site carries no fee page: on 31 August 2026 the English homepage's own link to its primary-school page returned a 404, so an English-reading family could not reach these figures at all. |
| Crnjanski | On request only | At an interview, or by email on request | The enrolment page refers to a contractual price but states no figure for any programme. |
| PRIMA | On request only | At an interview, or by email on request | The fee schedule is released during the interview with the Head of School, or by email to prospective parents living abroad. |
| Ruđer Bošković | Publishes a schedule | On the school's own fee page | The school's fee table is headed 2026/27 while the page's own meta title still reads 2025/26. We have used the live table rather than the meta title, checked 24 August 2026. |
| Ruska škola | On request only | At an interview, or by email on request | We read the school's own homepage, its English pages and its enrolment page on 31 August 2026 and found no figures and no fee page. The enrolment page invites families to book an interview and says fuller detail is coming. |
| ISB | Publishes a schedule | On the school's own fee page | Tuition is charged in US dollars and the capital fee in euros – a genuine dual-currency structure, not a transcription error. Pre-Kindergarten pays no capital fee. |
| Westbridge | On request only | At an interview, or by email on request | The school does not publish a fee schedule. A banner in the site header carries a single 'from' figure with no period attached – not per month, per term or per year – and the same figure appears on the primary and A Level pages alike, so it cannot be read as a price for any particular year group. Ask for the full schedule in writing. |
| Young Sparrows | Publishes a schedule | On the school's own fee page | The school publishes one yearly tuition figure for its Cambridge Primary English-speaking package, with early-bird deadlines that have already passed for 2026/27, and states that there are no hidden or application fees. Meals and the extended day are priced separately, per month. |
| EFB | Publishes a schedule | On the school's own fee page | – |
| Russian Embassy school | No tuition charged | Not applicable. Free under the law the school operates under | The school's own site quotes article 88 of the Russian education law: a Foreign Ministry establishment abroad provides general education free of charge to the children of the staff it lists, and other children may also be admitted free of charge by decision of the head of the establishment, agreed with the ministry in Moscow, with Russian citizens given preference. No tuition figure appears anywhere on the site. Read 31 August 2026. |
This table is itself a finding. In most cities a fee schedule is a public document. In Belgrade it usually is not, which means a family cannot build a shortlist from websites and has to spend an interview on pricing. Knowing that in advance changes how you plan the search.
What each fee actually contains

“Not stated” means the school does not address it anywhere public – which is not the same as “extra”, and is a good question for an interview. Schools missing from this table publish nothing at all about what their fee contains. It matters more than the headline number: a fee that includes lunch, uniform, books and examination entry is doing far more work than one that does not.

A directory publishes an annual tuition range for BIS on a profile the school does not manage, with no academic year stated. The school's own position is that fees are given to families directly, so we do not reproduce that range.
Brook Hill International School

Not addressed anywhere public: Bus, Lunch, Uniform, IGCSE and A Level examination fees.

Figures circulating on directory sites for Chartwell are higher than the school's own published schedule, and are sometimes shown in dinars, which the school does not use. Neither the higher figures nor the dinar conversions should be treated as Chartwell's fees.

The six lines to ask for in writing
Ask for these six lines in writing, from every school, before you compare any two of them. They are where two identical-looking fees stop being identical.
- The full schedule by year group, for the current school year – not a range.
- Every one-off charge. Application, registration, enrolment, deposit, and any capital or development levy. At some Belgrade schools the first year costs materially more than every year after it; at others there is no joining charge at all.
- What the fee excludes. Ask for exclusions, not inclusions – a school will list what it includes without prompting, and the omissions are the point.
- Examination entry. IGCSE, A Level and IB Diploma entry is a real cost and only three schools in this guide state publicly that it is covered – PRIMA, BIS and EDUCA. This one arrives in Year 10 and surprises people.
- The bus, for your street. Not whether a service exists – whether it covers where you will live. At least one school creates a route only when enough pupils live in the same area, so the honest answer may depend on other families.
- Discounts and payment plans. Sibling reductions are common and vary widely; several schools discount for paying the year upfront, and at least one charges more for paying monthly. We have not found any of this on a directory.
Ask all six of every school on your list, so you are comparing the same things.
Questions families ask
How much does an international school in Belgrade cost?
Belgrade has no standard fee. Nine of the eighteen fee-paying schools we have checked publish figures – seven a current schedule, one a schedule whose most recent year has already passed and one on a page its own menu does not link to. The other nine release them at an interview or by email. More importantly, the schools are not charging for the same thing: some fees include lunch, uniform, textbooks and examination entry, others cover teaching alone. Ask each school for its full schedule in writing together with its exclusions, and compare those, not the headline.
Why are international school fees in Belgrade so confusing?
Because three things vary at once. Fewer than half the schools publish a figure at all, so you cannot line them up. The schools that do publish are not pricing the same product – one fee includes lunch, books, uniform and examination entry, another covers teaching alone. And the currency is not the same everywhere: most published schedules are in euros, at least one is in dollars, and the dinar figures that circulate on directory sites are somebody's conversion rather than a school's own price. The way through it is to stop comparing headline numbers and compare the six lines set out above, which every school can answer in writing.
Why do so many Belgrade international schools not publish fees?
Nine of them release figures only at an interview or by email: BIS, Brook Hill, Crnjanski, Green School, IPS, Intellectum, PRIMA, Ruska škola and Westbridge. Nothing in Serbian law requires publication. The practical effect is that you cannot build a shortlist from websites, and should ask for schedules in writing early rather than spending an interview on pricing.
What is not included in international school fees in Belgrade?
Most often the school bus, lunch, uniform, examination entry and trips – but the pattern varies more here than in most cities. PRIMA includes lunch, books and Cambridge examination fees. Ruđer Bošković includes lunch and uniform. Chartwell excludes meals. The École française charges separately for canteen, school supplies and each examination. Always ask for exclusions.
Are there sibling discounts at Belgrade international schools?
Commonly, and they vary a great deal. Deutsche Schule reduces for a second and third child, Crnjanski and Chartwell for a second and third, and International School runs the steepest scale published by any school in this guide, reducing for the second and third child and waiving the fee for a fourth where enrolments overlap. Several schools also discount for paying the year upfront. We have not found any of this on a directory.
Which international school in Belgrade is cheapest?
Cheapest on tuition is not cheapest overall, which is why we do not rank on price. A fee that includes lunch, uniform, textbooks and examination entry can cost less across a year than a lower fee that includes none of them. Work out the total for your child's year group at each school, including the bus for your street, and compare those.
