Who writes The Bridge
Who is responsible for what is published here, where the guide's facts come from, and how to get something corrected.
The Bridge was founded and is edited by Eva, a student at an international school in Belgrade. The magazine – twelve articles so far, across the Summer Edition 2026 and the Autumn 2026 edition – is her writing. The Autumn 2026 School Spotlight is different: each school's spread there was written or approved by that school. The guide is a separate thing: it is compiled from the schools' own websites and from public registers, and no part of it is first-hand reporting yet. We say which is which on every page, because the difference matters.
The people
Eva – Founder and Editor-in-Chief
Eva founded The Bridge and edits it. She is a student at an international school in Belgrade, which is where the idea came from: there was no publication written by the people actually living the thing every guide describes from outside. She wrote the founder's note that opened The Bridge and is responsible for everything published here, including this guide.
Writers – we are looking for them
The intention is a magazine written by students across Belgrade's international schools. At the moment that is intention rather than fact: both editions so far are Eva's. If you are a student at one of these schools and you want to write, get in touch. You do not need experience. You need to be at one of these schools and to care about getting things right.
The magazine and the guide are different things
The magazine is student writing. The guide – every school profile, comparison and reference page – is compiled from what schools publish about themselves and from public registers. It is not reporting, and we do not present it as though students had visited these schools and formed a view. When that changes, it will say so.
How we check things
Everything in this guide comes from what schools publish on their own sites and from public registers – the IB's school finder, the UK register of British Schools Overseas, the French Ministry's homologation record. Where we quote a figure or a policy, we link the page we took it from and give the date we read it.
Where a page ends with open questions, we will put them to the school in writing; we have not sent them yet. They are the things a school's own site does not answer. When a school answers, its answer will go on its page, in its own words, with the date we asked.
Where a school does not publish something, we write “not published” rather than estimating – a number with no source behind it is worse than no number, and most of the wrong figures circulating about Belgrade schools began as somebody's guess or somebody's currency conversion.
Where a school states something and we have not checked it against the relevant register, we label it not checked. That means exactly what it says: an unchecked box, not a doubt. Where we have searched a register and not found something, we say that instead, with the date of the search – those are different claims and we do not blur them.
Corrections
If something here is wrong or out of date, tell us. We will fix it and note when we did – for schools that work with us and schools that do not, in exactly the same way. Our policy on working with schools sets out what a school can and cannot buy, and what is never for sale.
