Cambridge schools in Belgrade
Which Belgrade schools teach the Cambridge curriculum, how far each one takes it, and the accreditation claim that means something different from what it sounds like.

Cambridge is the most common curriculum in Belgrade by some distance — most of the city's international schools teach it. They differ in how far they take it. Some run the full path from Cambridge Primary through IGCSE to AS and A Level; others stop at Lower Secondary and hand pupils on. Before choosing, check two things that are not obvious from a school's homepage: which year the school actually stops at, and which subjects it offers at A Level — the lists differ a great deal, and one school offering A Levels publishes no sciences among them.

What to check before you choose
Check the A Level subject list before you commit
"We offer A Levels" is not the same as "we offer the A Levels your child needs". A Level entry to medicine, engineering and most sciences requires specific subjects, and a small school cannot run every combination. Westbridge, for example, publishes an A Level list of Business, Economics, English, Global Perspectives, Computer Science, Psychology, Sociology, Digital Media and Tourism — a coherent offer for a student heading towards business or the social sciences, and not the right school for one heading towards medicine. That is a fit question, not a quality question. Ask every school for its actual subject list, in writing, for the year your child will reach it — lists change with staffing.
Where each school stops
Cambridge schools in Belgrade end at different points. Green School by Chartwell runs to Year 9 and feeds into Chartwell for IGCSE and A Level. IPS runs to age 14. EDUCA stops at 14 with no upper secondary at all. If you are choosing for a young child, ask what happens at 14 — the answer decides whether you are choosing one school or two.
One accreditation claim worth reading twice
EDUCA describes itself as an accredited Cambridge PDQ Centre. Cambridge PDQ is the Professional Development Qualifications programme — a qualification for teachers and school leaders, not a pupil curriculum and not an examination authorisation. It is an accurate statement about staff training, and it is easy to misread as something else.
If you want to confirm a school's Cambridge status yourself, ask for its Cambridge centre number. Schools rarely publish it — there is no reason they should — but every registered centre has one, and it is what allows your child to sit the examinations on site rather than travelling.
Questions families ask
Which schools in Belgrade teach the Cambridge curriculum?
Most of the city's international schools do, including Chartwell, PRIMA, the British International School, Brook Hill, Westbridge, International School Savremena, Green School by Chartwell, IPS and Gimnazija Crnjanski. They differ in how far they take it — some run the full path to A Level, others stop at Lower Secondary.
What is the difference between Cambridge and the British curriculum?
In practice, very little in Belgrade. Cambridge International delivers an international version of the English national curriculum, and the schools here use the terms almost interchangeably. What matters is the qualifications at the end: Cambridge IGCSE at 16 and Cambridge International AS and A Level at 18.
Do all Cambridge schools in Belgrade offer A Levels?
No. Several stop earlier — Green School by Chartwell at Year 9, IPS and EDUCA at 14. Among those that do offer A Levels, the subject lists differ substantially, and at least one offers no science A Levels at all. Ask for the subject list for the year your child will reach, not the current one.
