1.School Spotlight & Autumn 2026

Please briefly introduce your school and share one exciting project, club, event, initiative or campus update launching this autumn.

Unique amongst Belgrade’s private schools, Rudjer Bošković School (RBS) brings together local and expatriate families into a tight-knit school community in the picturesque surrounds of Košutnjak. As an IB World School offering the full continuum of grades 1-13, RBS’s dedicated staff (with eight teachers holding PhD qualifications) nurtures balanced, principled and caring students while igniting curiosity, creativity and critical thinking.

We opened the new 2026/27 school year with celebrations of summer holiday academic success (RBS students attained medals at four separate international competitions, in psychology, geography, mathematics and physics), followed by excited anticipation of our annual school trips for grades 6-13, covering Venice, Toscana, Andalusia and Prague, and regional Serbia.

2.Student Voice & Community

Can you share a student-led initiative, club, tradition or part of everyday school life that reflects the spirit of your student community?

Our primary and high school students eased into the school year with the traditional Sports Days at Ada Ciganlija, enjoying water-skiing, cycling and various team sports while re-kindling friendships through teamwork and communication.

Students also selected from a rich offering of CAS activities (Creative Activities of the School) for the term.

High school students resumed their regular sessions with friends at the local Čukarica Day Centre for People with Developmental Challenges, practising compassion, care, balance and open-mindedness. Grades 1 & 2 enjoyed our annual Let’s Play event, while lower primary students are enjoying excursions to a Belgrade Philharmonia concert, a theatre performance and National Museum visit, plus day trips to traditional salaš farmsteads, and the Mali Dunav Applied Hydrobiology Centre.

3.Future Skills & Beyond Academics

How does your school empower students to become leaders, creators and global thinkers beyond the classroom?

Fostering a sense of global citizenship and community service is woven deeply into the culture at Rudjer. Day to day, students get involved in debating, drama, journalism, geography and philosophy clubs; they regularly engage with visiting guest speakers; they organize and run events like Rudjer Fest, Kindness in Action, book fairs and sports tournaments, raising funds for worthy local organizations.

Our teachers play a key role in supporting students to prepare for international competitions worldwide.

These experiences allow students to lead, reflect, develop empathy, while broadening their horizons, and strengthening their identity as informed, open-minded global citizens.

4.The School Vibe – in Three Words

Describe your school atmosphere in just three words, then share one short message for students across Belgrade this autumn.

Close-knit. Nurturing. Diverse.

Student well-being is as important as achievement. Our mission at RBS is to inspire learners to become honourable, principled, knowledgeable and caring individuals, capable of making meaningful contributions to their communities, locally and world-wide.
