We do not publish prices, timetables or term dates for any of these, even where the provider publishes them. They change every term, and an out-of-date class time is worse than none at all. Every row links to the provider's own page, which is where the current schedule lives.
What this page does not tell you
Three things, deliberately. What it costs — the same rule the rest of this guide follows, and for the same reason: a price we copied in September is a wrong price by spring. When the classes are — timetables are rebuilt every term. Whether there is a place free — only the provider knows, and only today.
What we can tell you is that the provider exists, that they say they teach children, what ages they say they take, and where. That is the part that stays true long enough to be worth writing down.
Questions families ask
Is this for a child learning Russian, or one who already speaks it?
Both exist in Belgrade and they are different products. Two providers here are aimed at Russian-speaking families keeping the language: a Saturday school teaching Russian, mathematics and general studies, and the Russian cultural centre's course preparing a child to enter a Russian-programme school. The others teach Russian as a foreign language, one of them stating explicitly that it assumes no previous Russian.
Where is the widest choice?
The Russian cultural centre, by some distance: three graded groups from five to thirteen, two preparatory groups from three, a conversation course to fifteen, a course preparing a child for a Russian-programme school, and support lessons for children who study Russian at a Serbian school. It publishes a group size of four to eight.
Do Belgrade's big language schools teach children Russian?
Mostly not. Six providers publish a children's Russian here against nine for German, and three of the six are Russian institutions rather than language schools: the state cultural centre, a Russian weekend school, and a centre running a beginners' course. The other three are general language schools that list Russian alongside several other languages rather than as a department of its own. That is why this page is shorter than the German one.
