Nine providers in Belgrade publish, on a page of their own, that they teach Serbian as a foreign language to children. Three of the international schools in this guide also run it themselves — DSB, IPS and London Gates — which is the half of the picture no activity directory carries.

We do not publish prices, timetables or term dates for any of these, even where the provider publishes them. They change every term, and an out-of-date class time is worse than none at all. Every row links to the provider's own page, which is where the current schedule lives.

What this page does not tell you
Three things, deliberately. What it costs — the same rule the rest of this guide follows, and for the same reason: a price we copied in September is a wrong price by spring. When the classes are — timetables are rebuilt every term. Whether there is a place free — only the provider knows, and only today.
What we can tell you is that the provider exists, that they say they teach children, what ages they say they take, and where. That is the part that stays true long enough to be worth writing down.
Questions families ask
My child starts a Serbian state school in September and speaks no Serbian. What are the options?
Serbian law entitles a foreign child to lessons in Serbian, though under conditions set out on our page about a foreign child in a state school. Alongside that, the centres on this page teach Serbian as a foreign language to children privately.
Is there anywhere that teaches Serbian through Russian?
One provider states that it does, teaching Serbian online in Russian and running group classes in the centre of Belgrade. It is the only one we found that says so.
Do the international schools teach Serbian?
Some name it on their own activity pages — one publishes Serbian as a foreign language as a school club, another lists Serbian classes for non-native speakers as an after-school activity. Those schools are listed on this page.
